Ways to pay on BartaBase

Every payment runs through Paystack, so you can pay by card, bank transfer, USSD and more — all in one secure window at checkout. Whichever you choose, the money is held by BartaBase until you confirm you've received your item.

Secured by Paystack
Before the how

Safe by design

Three things are true no matter which method you pick.

Your card never touches us

Payment happens inside Paystack's certified, PCI-DSS-compliant window. BartaBase never sees or stores your card number.

One payment, held safely

Paying pays BartaBase, not the seller directly. We hold it until you confirm receipt — see the Money Back Guarantee.

Every naira accounted for

You get a receipt, and your Orders page shows exactly what you paid and where the order stands.

At checkout

Choose how you want to pay

When you check out, the Paystack window opens with the options below. The amount and reference are the same across all of them — pick whichever suits you best.

Card

Most common

Pay with a Visa, Mastercard or Verve debit or credit card. You approve the payment with your card PIN and a one-time code (OTP) sent by your bank.

Bank transfer

No card needed

The window shows a one-time account number. Open your banking app, transfer the exact amount to it, and the payment confirms itself within seconds — no card details at all.

USSD

Works without internet

Dial a short bank code (like *code#) from the phone number linked to your account and approve the payment on your phone. Handy when your data connection is patchy.

Pay with bank

Straight from your bank

Authorise the payment directly through your bank's internet banking, without typing any card number.

QR

Scan to pay

Scan the on-screen QR code with a supported bank app and approve the payment on your phone.

Apple Pay

Apple devices

On an Apple device in Safari, pay with a card saved in your Apple Wallet, approved with Face ID or Touch ID.

Not sure which?

A quick guide to picking one

No card, or a card that keeps declining? Use bank transfer or USSD — both pull straight from your bank account with no card involved.
Fastest for most people Card, if your bank's one-time code comes through quickly.
On a weak data connection USSD runs over the mobile network, so it works even when the internet doesn't.
Paying a large amount Bank transfer often clears the highest amounts — just check your bank's daily transfer limit first.
Being straight with you

How we'll never ask you to pay

Knowing what a real BartaBase payment looks like is the best protection against a scam.

We never ask you to pay a seller directly. Every payment goes through the Paystack window at checkout. If a seller asks for a transfer to their personal account, a POS, or cash "to skip the fees", stop — you give up every protection the moment you pay outside BartaBase, and there's nothing for us to return if it goes wrong. Please tell us instead.
No card details by email, chat or phone We'll never ask for your card number, PIN or OTP outside the Paystack window — and neither should anyone claiming to be us.
No "confirm early" to release a payout Confirming receipt is what pays the seller. Nobody legitimate needs you to do it before the item is in your hands.
Questions

The things people ask

Yes. The payment window is Paystack's own, certified to the PCI-DSS standard, and BartaBase never sees your card number. Look for the Paystack branding and the padlock in your browser before you enter anything.
No. The total shown in the Paystack window — the item price plus any delivery fee — is what leaves your account, whichever channel you pick.
It's rare, but if a charge or transfer shows on your side without the order confirming, don't pay again. Contact us through Help & Support with your Paystack reference and we'll reconcile it.
Not at the moment. Payment is upfront and held in escrow — and that hold is exactly what protects you. Pay-on-delivery would remove the very thing that keeps your money safe until you've got the item.
Nigerian Visa, Mastercard and Verve, along with international Visa and Mastercard. If a card is declined, your bank may need you to switch on online or international payments for it first.
